I think today’s Little Penang Street Market (LPSM) went pretty good today. The weather was terribly freaking hot super warm but everything else went rather fine except for the regular morning drama.
I think the music today was rather good. We’re getting more people in the afternoon because of the music.
There was Jerome Kugan who came to ‘Penang launch’ his album. I thought of getting his album as a support for local artistes but decided against it later cuz i’m SUPER broke. He sang a couple of songs which didn’t really click with me. I just don’t fall in love with just every guitar song. But I would get it as a present for a friend. Killing two birds with one stone: getting a gift and supporting a local artist. So if you are planning to get a birthday present for a maturing friend, do consider some ‘Made in Malaysia‘ ones. It’s going for RM25.
Happy Birthday Hui Ting!
There was also Dasha or Darsha (not sure of spelling) singing at the market accompanied by a guitar. I think she was pretty good. Just a year older than I am, i think. Later in the day, she sang with the jazz band as well which turned out pretty well. I totally enjoyed, enjoyed the music.
There is this jazz dude, Ronald i think, who was playing music with his two sons. I think this is the third time I’m seeing them play. It’s starting to irritate me. I have no problem with them, it;s just that I have a problem with seeing the same act too many times.
I think his two boys are quite musically talented. They play the violin, percussions, guitar, and who knows what more. I’m just wondering if there will be any negative effects on children who are exposed to performing in public at a young age. His boys are probably 12 years old and below. My question apply to all children in general especially those who are being exploited to perform like a sunglasses-wearing monkey cycling a bicycle. *Will go more into this another time.
Anyway, this is the last market for Emily and Marie Helene (MH) will be taking over. Let’s see what happens with an ang mo boss. I can diss her in Hokkien. Lol. New bosses treat their employers a round of honey drink. Let’s make that a tradition =P
